Oh no she didn't

Please click here to see one of craziest things I have seen in a long time. All credit to PAIGE for posting this. Can someone please call Child Protective Services? Is she doing this so that she can play the mentally unstable/psychotic card during her custody hearings? I am all for K-fed at this point. She is officially nuts.

Could this be right?

I've got another project on my hands. Actually, at this point I think I am juggling about four. Here is one of the latest that has taken priority because it will be fall soon and cold weather does not promote grass growth. We have a stretch of yard in our back yard that has no grass on it. Ever since we moved in it has been bare and we are just now getting around to seeding it so that it looks normal for potential buyers. Every spring the area turns into "lake Brown" because it fills with water from all the rain. It doesn't help that our neighbors have a yard that slopes down into ours. So we had 10 yards (huge truck worth) of dirt delivered a few weeks ago and we are ready to lay the seed tonight. Our friend from church who is a contractor told me I need to soak the seed so that it germinates faster....well this was the result. Could this be right? It looks like a giant tea bag floating in my tub. I sure hope I haven't soaked away all of the magical grass growing powder.

Too good to pass up

$3.99 are you outta your mind! Trader Joe's had these roses for $3.99 a bunch today so I snatched up three. It's usually after a trip to Sam's Club that I come home with flowers, but today's outing was to TJ's and I wasn't disappointed. Heaven knows my husband never buys me any so I have to spoil myself once and while with some fresh bouquets for the house.

So good...

What is it about these little things that I can't get enough of? Diane bought a box for Cohen to try while we were in California and I pretty much at the whole thing. I think Derek helped too, but it was mostly me. So, the next day I had to go back to the market and get some more....for Cohen. And that box disappeared as well. So now I have a box in my pantry at home and it has been calling my name all day. I think I figure they are smaller so I can eat more, but that is just stupid. They are even better if they are left open and get a little soft from the humidity in the air. YUM!

RIP

We got home from our trip to California tonight to find everything in Eric's tank completely dead. Well, almost everything, ironically the fish survived. You would think those would be the first to go. Every coral, crab, anenome, snail, all gone. I didn't know this but the pieces turn white when they die. Before, all the corals were red, purple, yellow, green, and brown. So sad. Eric is very depressed and can not be reached for comment.

As Seen On TV

Cohen had his first haircut last night thanks to the FLOWBEE! Grandma Bishop has been cutting her hair for twenty years with this thing so we thought we'd try it out on Cohen since he had a mini-mullet going. He started out ok with it but by the end he wasn't too happy. You can hear all of us dying of laughter. Ethan is also in the background screaming "I don't want one", because we kept telling him he was next.

Sunday Best

I have been going through all of the Brown's old family photos while I've been in town and boy did I find some real gems. These few are in honor of the sabbath.

Los Dodgers

It was a guys (and Julie) night out last night to see the Dodgers lose in the 14th inning against the Rockies. At one point Ethan was laying on grandpa's lap. I think they got home around 12:30am. Imagine if I had attended with Cohen....nightmare! Don't you love how Ethan is holding his foam finger that claims he is the #1 fan, yet he is wearing a Milwaukee Brewers t-shirt. Doesn't quite work. Everyone was looking mighty tan after an afternoon playing pool basketball.

Splish Splash

Since it's averaging 95 degrees here right now we couldn't help but cool off in the pool. After some heated pool basketball games, Eric, Dean, and Derek decided to pretend they were Michael Jordan by jumping from one side of the pool to the hoop. I think Derek was the most agile out of all of them. He actually got it in the hoop multiple times. Oh, if only you were young again...right Eric?

Arranged marriage

What do you think Annie, do you think Ruby will go for it? They can get married and make lots of little diabetic babies. Although, Ruby would be marrying a younger man. I don't know if she will approve of that. She is already way more mature, she might need an older, wiser husband. Why such cute little kids need to have such a LAME disease I will never know. Ethan is so excited to have a new pump buddy. Thanks again for hanging out with us today!

Busy Busy

Well I now have access to a computer so the blogging can begin.

We left last Saturday to fly to:

Immediately after our arrival Eric had to go to:

Then Eric, Ethan and I took off to: (Monterey, CA)

We left Cohen with Ed and Diane and it doesn't look like he missed us all that much...

We spent our time in Monterey looking at houses, hanging out with my mom and dad, Anne and Mike, and the Richey's (dentist). The drive North wasn't too bad, it took about 5.5 hrs from Southern Cal, but the drive home yesterday was brutal. It took at least 2 hrs longer and we were in traffic for most of it. We should have know to leave earlier but getting Eric out of town was difficult. Eric's favorite house was this one - of course one of the most expensive, but he could walk to work...

My favorite house is below, but it would be about a 30 minute drive for Eric to work.

It was a good, productive trip - we'll see if we proceed and sign on the dotted line. So, now we're in the OC, ready to relax. I'll let you know if that happens.

It's been 10 months

Remember the slogan, "Calgon, Take Me Away"... well I don't think I have ever said that in conversation (cause who really says that) until today, August 9th, 2007. After being thrown-up on all night by Ethan and then myself taking to the toilet earlier today I have decided that the Calgon fairy might need to do just that - take me away. This vacation isn't approaching fast enough. 39 hours seems like such a long time. Cohen isn't helping either. As the title states, it's been 10 months since my last peaceful night of sleep. I don't know how people survive on just a few hours a night because it isn't working for me.

Can you tell:
...........

Ok, so that wasn't me, but mine are getting there:

Random shiz

-Actually left the house yesterday to see the movie No Reservations. Eric refused to take me so I went with some friends and fellow bloggers from the ward. It was the usual predictable chick flick. At least I was out doing something, right? Who would have guessed that Aaron Eckhart graduated from BYU film school in 1994. Random.

Rotten Tomatoes gave the movie a 44% so that only reinforces to me how much Eric would have hated it. He can't see anything that is below a 60%. The whole movie was set on the corner of Bleecker and Charles St in NYC - the same street that Bennett lives on. I had to text him during the movie just to make sure. It did look familiar.

-Both kids are sick. AHHH! Ethan threw up earlier and it wasn't pretty. I don't think the rug (cream shag) in his room is going to make it. He drinks Crystal Light and the spew was bright pink. I have waste baskets and bowls spread all over the house so that he doesn't ruin anymore rugs. Not pleasant. Cohen is feverish, coughing and sneezing. Did I mention that we are leaving town on Saturday?

-Some of my tomato plants actually produced fruit this year that I was around to eat. I picked some of the grape tomatoes off today - very good! And I made pesto the other day with all the basil that I have. I have a freezer full. Yum!

-Haven't been running this week. I've had no energy with all the pump checks at night and the kids being sick. Plus, I can't really drop sick kids off at the Y. Therefore, I have been on the internet pretty much all week... looking at stuff to do when we are in Monterey. I also bought a ton of stuff at old navy and gap online for me and Ethan. Why does it always look better in pictures than when you actually get it out of the box? I am fully expecting to return 90% of what I bought. It always works that way. Retailers hate me because I always buy a lot online and then just return it all. Oh well, I was once a gap employee so I really have no sympathy.

-This is the most rambling I have done in a long time. Usually my posts are very short and sweet. Sorry to bore.

Can't Get Enough

Since the summer months do not provide any tv worth watching I have turned to cable tv to fill my tivo with. I think in the past week alone I have watched, well, fast forwarded through, at least 5 of each of the following shows: Property Ladder, Flip This House, Flip That House, Sell This House, Designed to Sell, and a few of Flipping Out on Bravo. These shows fascinate me. Actually, the feeling I get watching them is more of jealousy. Jealous that some of the lamest people can make tons of money flipping houses.

Today's Outing

Today Ethan got to play with his friends Brady and Carter. We had planned to go to Bayshore Mall to play in the jumping fountains, but it was closed so they could set up for an outdoor concert. So... we headed over to Doctors Park. I think Cohen had the best time out of everyone. It was pretty hot today so all the kids cooled off in the lake.
