It was a really clear night last night at the beach. We could see all the way up the coast and out to Catalina Island. Julie has been in town this week with little Addison - so sad to see them go tomorrow. And my sister Molly is down for a few days as well while my Mom is up in San Francisco helping with Lucy! It's so much fun getting visitors now that we are in a place worthy of visiting in February.

12:28 AM
After finding this the other night - I've decided that it's the mattress that lures my kids in our bed, not us. At 12:28 am I came up to bed to find these two fast asleep. Both with woobies in hand. I guess they are awake enough to remember to bring those, all the while I was thinking that they may be sleep walking into our room. I was so close to just getting in one of their beds, but again, we have a nice mattress.
I hope this addiction amounts to something
Cohen's meaty paws gripping that IPhone with all his might...
He never gives it up willingly, and if I take it away it's a fight to the death. Callers do not feel ignored, Cohen knows how to ignore phone calls, and if one would happen to interrupt his movie, game, or latest download, he won't hesitate to hang up on you.
I am expecting within a few months or so that I will have to buy a new one because of the damage he has done to the thing. I think it was his evil plan, thinking I would have to give him the old one if I get a new one... how sad Molly, Cohen might get one before you do.

Just a boy or the next great horror movie director?
You are cordially invited to attend the small but expressive art collection of Mr. Ethan Brown. Refreshments will be served. Currently on display at Ethan's home, featured front and center on the fridge.
I was recently honored to interview the budding artist and he had this to say about his work:
"It's a guy and he himself, he himself cut off his head and then he died. He had this knife, and he took it like this (acting out one cutting off his own head), and then it just fell on the floor. See, this red stuff is blood and those (lines on his hands) are more knives and that's it."
When asked why the depicted has a smile on his face even though his head is spurting blood on the floor, he said, "Oh, where's the black sharpie, I need to fix that."

San Fran
What can I say, it was a great trip. San Francisco is a great town, way better than LA. I think I could live in Northern Cal... what do you think Eric?
My parents and all my sisters (minus emily) went up for Anne's delivery this past weekend. There were a lot of unknowns going into it but Anne had amazing doctors and a million prayers on her side which resulted in a sweet, tiny, 5 lb 11 oz baby girl. We are all thrilled and excited to see her grow up to be a happy, healthy, handful!!
Downtown somewhere
Diane & I made some burp cloths
A little different looking than me at 9 months...
Roof top view from Anne & apartment
Molly & Martha
Proud parents
No these are not fingers.

Sideways, part II
The other night after we put the kids to bed, we all made our way downstairs to watch Idol (Ed & Diane included). By the time we finished the show it was pretty late and Ed was the first one to get up to go to bed. A few seconds later he returns to the family room, whispering, he proceeds to tell us we have a escapee on the stairs. Now, from my previous post you may remember - Cohen was the one with the unusual sleeping habits...well, Ethan has reclaimed the title.
The kid was asleep on the landing of the staircase, who does this? He had heard us all downstairs, probably laughing a little too much at the audtitions, and decided he needed to investigate. So he got as close he could to the action without being noticed - and he fell asleep. And what is it about my boys and their woobies? Instead of covering up their bodies to keep warm they always strangle/suffocate themselves with it. It's why they always wake up with the craziest, sweaty, bedhead.
