In Remembrance

Four years ago I received this plant from Anne and my parents. Four years ago today. Back then it was a little potted plant you would find at a nursery. Today it a beautiful, thriving, healthy specimen. It baffles me that it has been that long, but even more astonishing is that the plant is still alive. This miraculous plant has been through three Milwaukee winters, a few different transplants to bigger pots, and a move - where it was put in the back of a sealed truck for a week. I think it is an eternal flame of sorts but also a testament to Eric who has cared for it all these years. It is nice to have around, always reminding us of Noah Jeffery. We miss you!

Josie! My love! My dear! It's been so stinkin' long! How are you? I keep meaning to write you back about Steve but it is a long, complicated sad story. He's alive, he's fine. But not great. Bad choices. I'll get around to explaining some day. Some day you'll have to tell me about Noah Jeffery.
You, on the other hand, look fabulous, have adorable handsome boys, are a great photographer, a witty, wonderful writer and I have loved catching up with your life through your blog. Aren't these things amazing!?
Speaking of amazing...what kind of flower is that because I need some survivors in my garden! Love you!

That is so cool that the plant has survived through so much and it still looks great. I'm sorry for your loss four years ago, but I'm glad that you have something beautiful to remember him by. So cute that Ethan is hugging it!
